CRI听力：Suicide Bombing in Kabul Kills 30

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned terrorist attacks, as another suicide bombing took place in Kabul on Saturday, which has killed around 30 people and wounded another 30.

"It was a terrible tragedy, no doubt an act of extreme cowardice on the part of whoever committed it; no doubt whoever did this was against the people, against humanity, definitely against Islam."

On Saturday morning, a suicide bomber wearing Afghan army uniform got on a military bus when it stopped to pick up passengers and blew himself up. Witnesses say most of the casualties are national soldiers and Afghan police who were on the bus.

A purported Taliban spokesman has claimed that the militant group is responsible for the blast.

Karzai also says that he wishes to contact Taliban leader Mullah Omar to ask him the reason for destroying the country.

The attack mirrored a similar suicide bombing in June, which killed 35 people. Due to rising Taliban violence, over 5,000 people have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
