"The Congress is not only important to China, but also to the world."
The Congress saw more than a thousand overseas journalists from some 300 overseas media outlets cover its deliberations and many of these said that it would give people from other countries a better understanding of the future development of China.
Jamie Florcruz is cnn's Bureau Chief in China.
"The congress is a good kind of look into what China is doing and how it is changing. It's good to listen to Chinese leaders directly and find out what they plan to do in the next few years. So it's a very important congress."
Besides the concept of "scientific development", one of the most salient characteristics of this Congress was the stress put on the improvement of ordinary people's lives.
Chen Tiebiao is a journalist from Hong Kong.
"China has developed to a certain stage, in which it feels quite confident in its economic achievements. Now, it begins to pay more and more attention to the issue of improving people's livelihood."
