CRI听力:Wen Jiabao in Hunan Helping with Disaster Relief
Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao paid a weekend visit to central China's Hunan Province to help with disaster-relief work, the second time in one week.
The Premier said the present work should focus on recovering transportation and power supply, as well as better help the people affected by heavy snowfalls.
In Hunan Xiangtan Electricity Company, Wen Jiabao pointed out the most pressing task for the electricity sector.
"We will continue efforts to ensure electricity supply and increase the storage of coal. In the future, we must put more importance on saving energy and adjusting the structure of power usage."
The Premier visited drivers and passengers stranded along the motorways passing through Chenzhou city in the province.
He also talked to local residents, saying that governments at all level are doing everything they can to bring things back to normal. Technicians have also been sent to Hunan to help repair electricity grids.
Meantime, other senior officials also went to different places of the country to help the relief efforts.
