The nine-day long "18th New Delhi World Book Fair" has kicked off in the Indian capital with the attendance of more than 1,300 publishers from around the world. Among them are a number of Chinese publishers, who have come to showcase more than 700 kinds of publications on Chinese history and economics as well as Chinese dictionaries. These Chinese publications have attracted a large number of Indian readers as well as publishers from other countries. An Indian book trader says he hopes to promote Chinese culture through his business. "I want more and more people to speak Chinese and now we are doing so much trade with China." The world book fair is organized by India's National Book Trust, an autonomous body of India's Ministry of Human Resource Development. |
