CRI听力：Bomb Blast outside Danish Embassy in Pakistan

A huge car blast shook Danish embassy in Pakistan on Monday morning, killing at least 8 people and wounded dozens more.

The bomb exploded at the main gate of the embassy in the capital of Islamabad. It totally destroyed the post of the private guards outside the embassy and left a crater over one metre deep.

Wrecked vehicles and panic people, some blooding, can be seen around the site. Later, the area of the blast has been cordoned off and the injured have been transferred to hospitals for treatment.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri recently called for attacks on Danish targets in response to the publication of caricatures in Danish newspapers depicting the Prophet Muhammad.

The Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller said one embassy worker was killed and three were injured in the blast.(Www.hxen.net)

"My immediate reaction is that you can only condemn this. It is terrible that terrorists do this. The embassy is there to have a cooperation between the Pakistani population and Denmark, and that means they are destroying that. They're destroying the Pakistanis ability to connect with Denmark. It is completely unacceptable. "

Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir visited the site and strongly condemned the crime.

"The president, the prime minister, as well as the foreign minister have all very strongly condemned this terrorist attack...and this loss of precious human lives and our hearts go out to the families of the victims."
