CRI听力:North Korea Expected to Present Nuclear Program Declaration Soon
South Korean top nuclear negotiator Kim Sook said on Sunday that North Korea is in the final stages of producing a declaration of its nuclear programs in return for economic aid and political concessions under an aid-for-disarmament deal.
Kim said he was confident a declaration document would soon be presented by North Korean officials.
"I confirm that North Korea is preparing the nuclear declaration and it is to be submitted soon. But it's my understanding that the US seems to need more time to review the 18,000 pages of documents practically and professionally."(Www.hxen.net)
North Korea is coordinating with the United States on when the North will issue the long-awaited declaration. The country had promised to complete the declaration by the end of last year.
Kim also expected the disarmament talks among the six negotiating parties - US, China, Japan, Russia, South Korea and North Korea to resume this month, which were last held between late September and early October 2007.
