2008-06-23来源:和谐英语

The first batch of quake-injured people transferred to Beijing for treatment has left the capital city after recovery. They are now back home in the southwestern province of Sichuan. Our reporter Liao Jibo has the details.

After the May 12th Sichuan earthquake, many injured people were transferred to other cities across the country for better treatment.

Nine patients were sent to the Beijing Elders' Hospital from Mianyang and Deyang late in May. They mainly suffered nerve injuries, craniocerebral injuries and fractures.

After three weeks' intensive care, doctors who have carefully evaluated the health conditions of the patients say the patients are ready to leave the hospital. (Www.hxen.net)

Deng Xiaohong is vice director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health.

"We've prepared specific medical records for each patient, so that they can give the records to local doctors if necessary."

The patients say they are grateful to the medical personnel in Beijing for the level of care they provided.

Ma Tianfeng, one of the recovered patients, says she took the welcome board from the Beijing Elders' Hospital with her when she left.

"I saw this board when I first came to the hospital. I just felt at home while staying there. And I also developed deep feelings for the medical staff. Now, I have taken this board with me to remember their love and careful attention."

Luo Zhengyong is also one of the nine.

"I am going home soon, and then I will take part in the college entrance examination. I will try my best to get a good score. I think this is the best way I can pay back all the support that I have received."

Many other injured by the quake had been transferred to municipalities and provinces including Shandong, Tianjin and Shanghai.

The railway bureau of Shanghai has said that it will run a "love train" to Sichuan each Wednesday to transport other recovered quake victims back home.
