CRI听力:China and Russia Complete Border Survey
China and Russia signed an additional protocol on shared borders, marking the completion of the 4,300-km-long border survey and determination.
The protocol was signed in Beijing on Monday by Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and visiting Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov. (Www.hXen.com)
Yang Jiechi said talks with Lavrov were quite positive and fruitful.
"We have just signed the Sino-Russian Borderline Agreement which means we now have 4,300 kilometers of border which are agreed upon."
Yang said both sides have also exchanged wide-ranging and in-depth views on how to further promote the Sino-Russian strategic partnership of cooperation, and enhance bilateral cooperation on international and regional issues.
For his part, Lavrov said both China and Russia have endeavored to resolve the border dispute.
"Both sides have kept in mind the long-term benefits of building a friendly neighborhood, and peace and development."
Lavrov added that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games and meet with Chinese leaders.
