Beijing has repeated it can guarantee a safe and sufficient food supply during the upcoming Olympics.
Tang Yunhua is the spokesperson for the Beijing Food Safety Administration.(Www.hxen.net)
"From the athletes' menus, we can track the ingredients, where they was planted or produced. So from the farm to the dinner table, we have a whole series of systems in place to ensure food safety."
He said the city is 100% confident and capable of guaranteeing food safety during the Olympics.
Beijing has carried out guidelines to strengthen food monitering and investigation since 2005. Networks have been built to track all processes from planting and feeding to transporting and consumption of vegetables and meat.
