CRI听力:Wen Visits Temporary Quake Zone School as New Semester Starts
Along with more than 3,000 teachers and students, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao has attended the opening of a temporary middle school in southwest China's quake zone as the new semester started on Monday.
Beichuan Middle School was among the worst-hit schools in the May 12 earthquake. The Chinese premier has visited students and teachers at the school three times prior to the Monday event.
Upon the flag rising and national anthem with students and teachers, Wen Jiabao set great hopes to the youth.
"A catastrophe of a nation could always be compensated by its advancement. But who and what can we depend on? The youth, the whole nation depends on the arduous efforts of the youth."
Wen Jiabao said the quake has brought considerable misfortunes, and it brought experience and strength, adding that the future is full of hopes.(Www.hxen.net)
"I think the most important for us is always to face the bright future. As the Sun rises each day, our future is undoubtedly inspiring with new hopes."
The May 12 earthquake has killed more than 69,000 people with nearly 18,000 still missing.
