CRI听力:Medical Institutions Continue to Provide Treatment to Sick Infants During Holidays

2008-10-07来源:和谐英语

During the National Day holidays, medical institutions around the country continue to provide treatment to the infants sickened by tainted milk powder.

Zhang Junxia is a villager from central China's Henan Province.

"My baby has received free treatment since being hospitalized. Through the two-week care, the condition has improved rapidly. After the type-B ultrasonic examination, doctors found the stones have gone. As parents, we feel relieved."(Www.hXen.com)

Many doctors and nurses have given up their holidays, providing intensive care to the sick infants. Local governments have also established medical groups, sending them to remote rural areas to screen sick infants.

In another development, the country's top quality watchdog has said the latest sample test detected no melamine in newly supplied liquid milk on China's market.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine inspected samples of over 600 batches of liquid milk from 27 cities across China.

Altogether 75 brands were sampled, including top-selling ones such as Yili, Mengniu and Bright Dairy.

The test was the sixth in China after the tainted milk powder scandal erupted last month.
