CRI听力:At The Two Sessions, It Is Equally Important To Raise Questions and To Give Answers
The annual sessions of Chinese lawmakers and advisers of national affairs are drawing to a close.
An article in China's Youth Daily notes that the discussions they've had reflect growing social concern and involvement in policy making decisions.
The writer says public expectations for the annual meetings are little more than lawmakers and policy advisors fulfill their responsibilities, that is, examining the government's performance and offering suggestions.
On the other hand, the government should issue timely and professional responses to the issues and questions raised at the meetings.(www.hXen.com)
The writer goes on to say that an individual member should be blamed if he or she fails to voice the people's needs or offer advice for China's progress.
Yet, governments should also be held responsible if they cannot address the people's problems and concerns.
The article notes authorities should go beyond just opening their ears to making substantial moves that fully address the problems so the people will have the confidence to continue offering suggestions.
