CRI听力：Foreign Diplomats Visit Tibet Exhibition

More than 150 foreign diplomats including over 60 ambassadors and representatives from international organizations visited an exhibition marking the 50th anniversary of the Democratic Reform of Tibet in Beijing on Wednesday.

The ambassador from Chile, Fernando Reyes Matta thinks the information offered by the exhibition is important.

"I think it's important to find here a lot of documentary quotations, documents and these exhibitions of photography, that is important to know about what happened for example during the 1950s. Now 50 years later, we need to recognize what exactly happened in Tibet at that time."(www.hXen.com)

It has been 50 years since the emancipation of millions of serfs and life in Tibet has changed dramatically because of these reforms.

Viorel Isticioaia-Budura, the Ambassador of Romania who visited Tibet two years ago, thinks the exhibition accurately reflects the changes in Tibet, which combine very well with it's development and traditions.

"It shows how the contemporary Tibet region, because of its exchanges with the other Chinese regions, benefited a lot from imports, in term of investments, help in developing the local infrastructure and at the same time succeeded in keeping its most important traditions."

Isticioaia-Budura believes that people who live in Tibet want to change, they want to have progress and a better life.

The Romanian ambassador, who thought the exhibition helped him add to his knowledge of Tibet, hopes the exhibition can be held in countries outside China so that more foreigners can know more about the region.
