CRI听力: China Imposes Bans on Improper Ad Information on Medical Apparatus

China is taking measures to fight against false advertising of medical apparatus.

Zhao Jian from State Administration for Industry and Commerce, explaines.

"The sphere of application and effectiveness are very important information in the advertisements of medical apparatus. If they are mentioned in an unscientific, inaccurate and untrue manner, consumers would be misled and even result in harms to human body."

According to the new regulation, any insinuation that a medical product can ease the pressure of work and life stress is not allowed.

Zhao Jian stresses there is a major difference between medical products and other commodities.

"Medical products are different from other common goods, as they are directly used on human body. So such words must be annulled."

The new rules will take effect next Wednesday.
