CRI听力: Talks over Iran's Nuclear Issue Should Be in Framework of IAEA: President

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says that talks over its nuclear issue should be held in the framework of International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA.

"We have announced that Iran's nuclear issue is already over. Our opinion is that the nuclear program of Iran will be only in the framework of IAEA and the talks outside IAEA will only be about the participation in the management of the globe and about peace in the world."(www.hXen.com)

He also says Iran will present a new proposal package to the world after Iran's presidential election in June.

The United States and other Western countries claim that Iran intends to secretly develop nuclear weapons.

The UN Security Council also requires Iran to suspend its uranium enrichment activity.

Iran, however, insists that its nuclear plan is only for peaceful purposes. It vows to continue its uranium enrichment activity despite pressure and sanctions from Western countries.
