CRI听力:China Defeats Italy to Finish Top in Pool F

China continued its winning streak at the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix with a 3-1 (25-20, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16) victory against Italy on Sunday.

This win also puts China in first place in Pool F. Matches are being held at Hong Kong Coliseum.

Having won two matches, both teams strived to be the winner of the Hong Kong group.

Zhu Ting, who was nicely supported by her team, stunned the huge crowd of home supporters with a superb performance at the net.

The Chinese team took a quick 8-3 lead in the opening set.

Italy fought hard to bridge the gap and thanks to some unforced errors by the Chinese who called a timeout while holding on to an 11-10 lead.

Italy leveled the match at 12-12, but the Chinese retook the lead and held on.

Chinese coach Lang ping says the Italian team has character and great skill, and while the Chinese squad is still very young and lacks experience.

Lang says the Chinese team is prepared to go to the next stop, Wuhan.
