Dortmund has beaten German champions and rivals Bayern Munich 2-0 in the German Super Cup.
It was the third year running that Germany's two top clubs have met in the one-off encounter.
Dortmund enjoyed the early chances during the first half.
Henrik Mkhitaryan put Dortmund up 1-0.
In the second half, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it 2-0 after 62 minutes.
Dortmund's win sends a meassage to the German champions, with the new season beginning on the weekend.
