CRI听力:Chinese Athletes Enjoys a Good Start in Nanjing Olympics
Chinese athletes have staged good performances on the first day of the Nanjing Youth Olympics.
Jiang Huihua collected China's first gold medal in the women's 48kg weightlifting event.
Her best of three lifts in the snatch was 88kg and she hoisted 105kg in the clean and jerk to finish with a total of 193 kg.
Rugby sevens also kicked off on Sunday and China scored the first ever try in an Olympic women's event en route to defeating Canada.
Chinese Rugby player, Yan Meiling talks about the tough training.
"We have to exercise really hard to build muscles and strengthen. When need to be very strong to protect ourselves during the game. We should never withdraw ourselves during the confrontation in the competition to prevent from being hurt."
In swimming, China defended its mixed 4x100m freestyle title with victory in 3:27.02.
