11 Dead, 27 Missing in SW China Rainstorms
Eleven people are dead and 27 others are missing amid the heavy flooding in Chongqing.
The missing include 11 coal miners, who were buried by a landslide on Monday morning.
The Municipal government of Chongqing says the heavy rains and flooding have forced close to 40-thousand people from their homes.
More than 22 hundred homes have been destroyed.
Rain-triggered landslides also formed two barrier lakes in the region.
The Chongqing government has already earmarked 70 million yuan for disaster relief.
