It's being reported China's Central bank is injecting 500 billion yuan, or over 80 billion US dollars, into the nation's five largest banks.
The large-scaled liquidity is expected to be injected into the banks before the week is out.
The People's Bank of China has yet to respond to the report.
The cash is going to be inserted through the so-called Standing Lending Facility.
This process was set up last year to help banks get over short-term liquidity issues.
For more on the impending cash injection, we spoke earlier with Shen Hong, Shanghai Bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal.
