CRI听力:Li Na Bids A Tearful Farewell
China's tennis superstar Li Na has officially said goodbye to her fans.
A retirement ceremony for her has taken place last night at the on-going China Open tournament.
Speaking in front of a group of her WTA colleagues, Li Na admits it has been quite a hard decision for her to leave the court.
"I'm very happy to have the chance to say goodbye to all of you here. It's very tough to say goodbye, but I promise I will be around the court."
Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova says Li Na has inspired many people.
"Thank you for being our opponent. Thank you for being our inspiration and thank you for being our friend,"
Bringing a surprise, current number-1 on the men's side, Raphael Nadal delivered a bouquet of flowers, accompanied by Li's husband, Jiang Shan.
Li Na finishes her career with two Grand Slams, and nine WTA titles.
