CRI听力:Chinese Premier to Visit Europe

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang is set to visit Germany, Russia, Italy and the UN Food and Agricultural Organization or FAO headquarters from October 9 to 15.

Premier Li will also attend the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting or ASEM summit in Milan from October 16 to 17.

Germany will become the only country that Premier Li has visited twice since he took office in March 2013.

During his visit, he will co-chair the China-Germany governmental consultation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Germany is China's biggest European partner in trade, investment and technological cooperation.

Bilateral trade volume last year exceeded 160 billion U.S. dollars.

During his visit to Russia, Li Keqiang will hold the 19th regular meeting between the two countries' prime ministers with his counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

Energy cooperation is reported to be an important topic.

At the invitation of FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva, the Chinese premier will visit FAO headquarters in Rome on October 15, the eve of World Food Day.

His visit to Italy coincides with the 10th anniversary of the China-Italy comprehensive strategic partnership.

This is the first time he will attend the ASEM summit since taking office.

In a meeting Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in June, Premier Li expressed the hope that the summit will promote Asia-Europe political, economic, trade and cultural cooperation, strengthen communication, and make positive progress toward an Asia-Europe market.
