CRI听力:Confidence-Building btw Iran and West would Help Nuclear Talks: Iran Official
Iran's parliamentary speaker says confidence-building between Iran and the world's powers will help with the ongoing nuclear talks.
Ali Larijani, Iran's former top nuclear negotiator, has made the suggestion in Geneva, where trilateral talks among Iran, the US and the European Union have been taking place.
"There is not a natural, direct link between nuclear talks and the situation in the region. I think a deal on the nuclear issue would be useful and beneficial to everyone. And a deal would help us to do something about the instability in the region. I have been following the negotiations very closely and I think steps are being taken, and we are moving forward towards a deal."
Talks connected to Iran's nuclear program are taking place this week ahead of a November 24th deadline.
US Secretary of State John Kerry, who is involved in the trilateral talks, says he still believes they can reach a deal before the November deadline.
However, its believed there are significant gaps in how much uranium, and to what grade, Iran will be allowed to enrich in the future.
