CRI听力:Canadian Police Say Suspect Involved in Killing of a Soldier 'Radicalized'
Canadian authorities say the 25-year old suspect who ran down two Canadian soldiers in the province of Quebec earlier this week was 'radicalized.'
The suspect ran down the two Canadian Forces soldiers with a car on Monday.
One of the soldiers has since died, while the other remains hospitalized.
The suspect, reportedly from the town where the incident took place, was later shot and killed by police.
Bob Paulson with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police say the suspect was one of 90 people across the country they've been tracking for being involved in terror-related activities.
"He was part of the, of our investigative efforts to try and identify those people who might commit a criminal act traveling abroad for terrorist purposes, so in that respect we were working him along with other suspects and we need to let the investigation now proceed,"
The incident is the first suspected militant attack against Canadian interests since it became involved in the fight against the Islamic State.
Canada is part of the US-led coalition which has been launching air strikes against Islamic State targets in Iraq and Syria.
