CRI听力:IS Fighters Seize Weapons Cache Meant for Kurds
New reports are suggesting the Islamic State has managed to seize at least one cache of weapons air-dropped by US forces meant to supply the Kurdish militia trying to hold the group at bay in the Syrian border town of Kobani.
Video uploaded on the internet appears to show weapons, including hand grenades, ammunition and rocket-propelled grenade launchers in the possession of Islamic State fighters.
Pentagon spokesperson, Rear Admiral John Kirby.
"We're aware that one bundle did not make it into the right hands. All of that doesn't take away from the notion that there's videos out there and that it could in fact be that bundle. I can tell you that analysts are working as fast as they can to try to validate it,"
The US, for the first time, began dropping supplies into Kobani this week to try to assist the Kurdish fighters trying to hold off the weeks-long offensive by the Islamic State, which has been attempting to seize control of the strategic town.
