2014-10-23来源:CRI

An exhibition displaying Han Dynasty artifacts has opened in Paris to help mark 50 years of diplomatic ties between China and France.

Over 450 artifacts dating from the Han Dynasty, which ran for around 400-years beginning in 206 BCE, will be on display at the Guimet Museum in Paris until March 1st.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and French President Francois Hollande have written a preface for the exhibition.

Chinese vice Minister of Culture Li Xiaojie attended the opening in Paris.

"It is the largest exhibition of Chinese cultural relics in France. The display include precious gems from the Han Dynasty, which have been donated from 27 Chinese museums. We hope the artwork on display will help introduce French and European visitors an open, unified, confident and pluralistic society during the Han Dynasty."

French Culture Minister Fleur Pellerin also attended the opening of the event.

"The exhibition represents a new model of Sino-France cooperation. I hope the show could attract a large number of visitors to know the splendorous period of civilization on the history of China, or even the world."

Meanwhile, exhibits from five French museums and a display of French Impressionism will be put on display here in China for a year.
