CRI听力:Disney's Sci-Fi 3D Animated Feature "Big Hero 6" Premieres
Disney has ditched the princesses that punctuated its massive animated hit "Frozen" in its new sci-fi feature, "Big Hero 6," which premiered earlier this week in Hollywood.
The film, based on a Marvel comic, is set in a futuristic city of San Fransokyo -- a mash-up of San Francisco and Tokyo -- and presents an ethnically diverse lineup of lead characters.
Ninteeen-year-old Ryan Potter voices Hiro Hamada, who invents a robot -- Baymax -- and joins with his friends to fight evil.
Potter spoke on the diversity portrayed in the film:
"Around the world, people are going to go see this film, they're going to be able to relate to one of the characters like they haven't in the past. They're going to be able to see themselves on that screen. That's what sets us apart from every animated film of all time."
Scott Adsit, famous for playing Pete in the "30 Rock" TV series, voices the inflatable robot Baymax.
Other voice actors in the movie include Jamie Chung, Genesis Rodriguez, Damon Wayans Jr., and Maya Rudolph.
"Big Hero 6" hits theatres in the U.S. on Friday and is already a contender for the "best animated picture" Oscar.
