CRI听力:Bodies Believed to be Those of 'Miss Honduras' and Her Sister Found

The Honduran police have found two bodies believed to be that of a missing beauty queen and her sister.

This year's Miss Honduras, Maria Alvarado and her sister, Sofia, disappeared from a resort area nearly a week ago.

Police have already detained the sister's boyfriend and another man in connection with their disappearance and suspected murder.

Santa Barbara police commissioner Rolando Casco.

"We managed to apprehend Mr. Plutarco Antonio Ruiz Rodriguez and Aris Valentin Maldonado. These (arrests) will strengthen our investigation about their motives and the investigations undertaken by the criminal police unit as the prosecutor's office, which we hope clarifies this case that has shocked the Honduran and international community."

Authorities have not said what they feel the motivation for the alleged murders may have been.

Forensics teams are working to try to confirm the victims' identities.

19-year-old Alvarado was crowned Miss Honduras in April.

She was due to compete in the Miss World Pageant in London next month.

Honduras has the highest per-capita murder rate in the world.
