CRI听力:Africa Calls for More Investment to Get Rid of AIDS by 2030
The African Union is calling for more funding to end HIV in Africa by 2030.
The call has been made ahead of World AIDS Day next month.
Erastus Mwencha is the deputy chair of the African Union Commission.
"As we try to get to zero, it is not just simply Africa's responsibility, that we can show from what I've just said, it is everyone's responsibility. It has, then, to be a global responsibility."
He has made the comment in Ethiopia as part of a meeting with officials from the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
An UN report released in July shows nearly 70 percent of the 34-million people infected with HIV around the world are living in Africa.
Two-thirds of roughly 10-billion US dollars used for AIDS prevention in Africa comes from international donors.
