CRI听力:Senior Chinese Official Comments on President Xi's Visit to Macao
A senior Chinese official says Chinese President Xi Jinping has given clear guidance on the future course of development of Macao during his 28-hour visit to the region.
Li Gang, head of the Liaison Office of the central government in Macao made these comments to the press at the Macao International Airport Saturday.
"President Xi made a series of important remarks during his stay in Macao. He highly appreciated the great achievements that Macao has made in the past 15 years since its return to the motherland, affirmed the successful practice of the 'one country, two systems' principle, pointed out the prominent problems in Macao's economic and social development, and expressed optimism about Macao's long-term development and lasting political stability."
Li Gang says President Xi's visit to the families of low-income workers shows his great concern for the well-being of the Macao people.
Li adds that the President's remarks at the University of Macao showed his concern for young students.
