CRI听力:Jordan Extends Airstrikes to Iraq
Jordan has extended air strikes against the Islamic State group to Iraq.
The move comes after Jordanian foreign minister Nasser Judeh said the country is stepping up its air campaign against the IS.
"We have to increase and step up this, not just air campaign, but as we said and as we promised we are going to go after these guys wherever they are and with everything that we have."
Jordan joined the US-led airstrikes in September, but up until recently was believed to have only bombed sites in Syria.
The intensified airstrikes come after IS announced it has burned alive a captive Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kassasbeh.
On Friday, thousands rallied in capital Amman to honor Kassasbeh and in support of the army.
Jordanian fighter jets have bombed dozens of IS targets including training centers and weapons storage sites in Syria.
