CRI听力:Boxing: Floyd Mayweather Still Undefeated After Beating Manny Pacquiao
results from boxing's big night yesterday:
Floyd "Money" Mayweather defeated Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision after 12 rounds in their mega-fight in Las Vegas.
Mayweather fought the fight many expected, utilizing his jab and counterpunching to out-maneuver the more-aggressive Pacquiao to win the match.
Extending his undefeated record to 48-and-0, Mayweather is now the unified welterweight world champion after taking Pac-Man's 147-pound world title.
Mayweather has had scathing criticism for Pacquiao in the past, but after the fight, the champ was gracious toward his opponent:
"Manny Pacquiao is still a champion. He still has a lot left and I was the better man tonight, more calculated fighter, took my time, had patience and was working on countering and, basically, using the jab."
Pacquiao told the media after the fight that he suffered a shoulder injury two weeks before the fight, which left his right hand weaker than it would have been, otherwise.
But the Filipino boxer says he has no excuse for the loss:
"I don't want to make alibis or reason anything what we having through this training camp but it's good. I'm happy because 12 rounds I fought a good fight and I thought I won but I have to review it on the video."
