CRI听力:Chinese Zodiac Design Competition Unveils Result
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture has recently announced the top award of a 2016 zodiac design competition for the year of Monkey goes to a 21-year old college student from Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication.
Xue Jiahui named her contested piece "Taichi Monkey", which is based on Taiji Tu, the Diagram of the Supreme Ultimate. She combines the diagram delicately with a lovely monkey.
Since the competition is also open to international professionals as well as hobby designers, both the Second, and Third-place awards contain a foreign designer, including Soraya Santamaria from Spain and Dubrovina Daliya from Russia.
The competition has collected over 2,000 designs of the monkey, which ranks ninth in the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac.
There are eight judges for the monkey zodiac competition, including Wu Hongliang, the curator of the Art Museum of the Beijing Fine Art Academy and Chinese chanteuse Laure Shang Wenjie.
All the prize-winning works will be promoted in national and international media for the celebration of the Chinese New Year 2016. Selected best works are going to be used to create derivatives and produced as souvenirs for The Happy Chinese New Year project in 2016, a worldwide celebration hosted by the Chinese Ministry of Culture.
