From North Carolina to NY, residents are bracing for an epic winter wallop in the coming days. North Carolina governor Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency while DC mayor Muriel Bowser says a major amount of snow will blanket the nation’s capital over the next few days.

Secretary of State John Kerry says the US stands by its use of sanctions against Iran and will use them appropriately. Kerry’s comments come after his Iranian counterpart accused the US of “being addicted to imposing sanctions.”


A decade after the death of a former Russian agent turned Kremlin critic, a British inquiry says Russian president Vladimir Putin probably approved a plan to kill him. Before his death, Alexander Litvinenko accused Putin of ordering the poisoning. Russian officials have denied being involved.

And two thieves made out with stealing nearly a million dollars worth of drugs and other products in Texas. Security camera footage shows the two thieves pilfering the Dallas area pharmacy, cutting open a safe and stealing a number of prescription drugs.
