The U.S is sanctioning a dozens individuals and 5 organizations tied to North Korea's nuclear and weapon proliferation efforts. White House press secretary Josh Earnest said the international community sent Pyongyang a firm message that it must abandon the dangerous programs.

Crews worked to clear the site of 16 cars in Norfolk southern freight train derailment, that forced the evacuation of dozens of western New York homes after ethanol leaked from 2 tankers. Emergency response officials said no one was injured and they now contained leaks from the two derailed cars.

Hundreds abortion-rights advocates rallied outside the supreme court on Wednesday as the justice was taking up the biggest case on the issue in nearly a quarter of century.
