A U.S. military member was killed by a roadside bomb Thursday in connection with the Iraqi effort to retake the city of Mosul. The American had been an advising member of the Kurdish militia known as the Peshmerga.
Volunteers have joined law officers in the search for a Sul Ross State University student who has been missing since last week. Police on Tuesday announced a $17,500 reward for information leading to the whereabouts or safe return of 22-year-old Zuzu Verk. Verk has been missing since October 12th and could be in danger.
Fire officials say a man in his fifties had a fatal cardiac episode while running from falling debris near a 50-story condo building in Miami. A woman inside a car hit by the debris was hospitalized with injuries that weren't life-threatening, as were two construction workers.
And the National Zoo is getting ready to say bye bye to Bao Bao the giant panda. The zoo says that Bao Bao will move to China within the first two months of 2017 as part of an agreement with the China Wildlife Conservation Association.
