The House Intelligence Committee subpoenaed former White House strategist Steve Bannon after he declined to answer a number of questions behind closed doors. The white house says it did not seek to formally exert executive privilege, which would have stopped him from answering some questions.
Charges could come on Wednesday against a California couple, accused of keeping their thirteen children imprisoned and malnourished. Authorities say their home was registered as a private school but no education officials ever visited.
A wintry mix of snow, ice and freezing rain is expected to cover a large number of southern states on Wednesday. Potentially dangerous wind chills prompted schools to close from Texas to Missouri to Georgia.
The National Weather Service says a suspected meteor lit up the sky and sounded like thunder across southern Michigan on Tuesday night. The service confirms the event was not weather-related.
