U.S. forces were seen on the move in northeastern Syria Sunday as Pentagon chief Mark Esper says troops leaving Syria will go to western Iraq. Esper touched down in Kabul where he met Afghan President Ashraf Ghani as the U.S. tries to figure out what's next for U.S. troops amid stalled peace talks in Afghanistan.

Tens of thousands of Lebanese protesters gathered nationwide demanding political change and an end to corruption. Lebanon is experiencing an economic crisis and the government has proposed new taxes. The protests are Lebanon's largest in five years.
New Orleans officials set off a series of explosions to toppled two cranes that were leaning over a partially collapsed hotel. But only one of the cranes came down exactly as planned. The Hard Rock Hotel was under contruction when it partially collapsed just over a week ago, killing three workers.
A Qantas jetliner touched down in Sydney Sunday, completing a 19 hour and 16 minute flight from New York, the longest non-stop commercial flight ever. Qantas is using the flight as a test to see how flights this long affect jetlag and fatigue among passengers and crew.
