New York state recorded 731 new coronavirus deaths on Tuesday, marking the biggest one-day jump in the outbreak. The governor said the number of deaths include those patients that were placed on ventilators "at the peak" of hospitalizations.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced an agreement with several companies to produce up to 30,000 ventilators. Trudeau said the ventilators will help increase Canada's capacity to make sure the country has enough lifesaving machines.
Wisconsin voters went to the polls Tuesday despite the coronavirus pandemic. Some voters waited more than two hours in line. Officials urged voters to have patience and take safety precautions to guard against the spread of the virus.
A Spacex Dragon resupply capsule left the international space station Tuesday carrying more than 4,000 pounds of scientific experiments. The spacecraft is scheduled to splash down in the Pacific Ocean later in the day.
