President Donald Trump's doctors say his health is improving and he could be discharged from a Maryland hospital as early as Monday. He took a ride around the hospital Sunday to greet supporters who lined the streets. Trump is being treated for COVID-19.
Americans Harvey J. Alter and Charles M. Rice, and British-born scientist Michael Houghton were awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology on Monday for the discovery of the hepatitis C virus. Their work, dating back to the 1970s and 1980s, has helped saved millions of lives, the Nobel Committee said.
The head of emergencies at the World Health Organization said Monday its "best estimates" indicate that roughly 1 in 10 people worldwide may have been infected by the coronavirus. That's more than 20 times the number of confirmed cases.
And authorities in southern Poland on Sunday captured a small caiman which was earlier spotted by members of the public swimming in a pond in Wroclaw forest. According to the zoo, the animal is a dwarf caiman which measures up to 150 centimetres in length. The animal is believed to be an unwanted pet released by its owner.
