Polling stations opened in Moscow early on Friday as Russia started three days of voting for a new parliament that is unlikely to change the country's political complexion. There's no expectation that United Russia, the party devoted to President Vladimir Putin, will lose its dominance in the State Duma.

Thousands of Argentines took to the streets on Thursday to protest against the government, demanding more jobs and social benefits. The socioeconomic crisis that Argentina has been dragging on for years deepened during the new coronavirus pandemic.

Environmental activists placed a huge mock job advertisement on a tower at Berlin's main station, located near Germany's federal chancellery. Greenpeace activists unrolled a 16 by 22 meter banner reading "climate chancellor wanted" with a list of requirements for the position.

And an imposing bronze statue has been unveiled in Hungary's capital which its creators say is the first in the world to pay homage to the anonymous creator of the Bitcoin digital currency. Erected in a business park near the Danube River in Budapest, the bust is engraved with the name of Satoshi Nakamoto. That's the pseudonym of the mysterious developer of Bitcoin whose true identity is unknown.
