The Kosovo-Serbia border on Tuesday remained blocked by ethnic Kosovo Serbs protesting a move by authorities to start removing Serbian license plates from cars entering the country. Tensions have soared since Kosovo special police were sent to the border to impose the new rule.

Hundreds of Haitian migrants on Monday crossed the Rio Grande river into the Mexican bordertown of Acuna, following mass expulsion of Haitians from the United States Sunday. Haitian citizens have been crossing the river near the town of Del Rio in Texas, in a steady stream for the past week.

Demonstrators marched in the streets of Australia's second-largest city Tuesday to protest against mandatory coronavirus vaccine rules in the construction industry. The protest in Melbourne was aimed at a Victoria state government mandate requiring all construction workers to get vaccinated.

And several small earthquakes shook the Spanish island of La Palma off northwest Africa, keeping nerves on edge as rivers of lava continued to flow following a volcano eruption. The lava is gradually closing in on the more densely populated coastline.
