Austria looks poised to become the only country in the Western Europe to have a far-right party in government. The conservative Austrian people's party has struck a coalition deal with the smaller anti-immigration Freedom Party. The two party leaders will hold talks with Austria's president on Saturday about forming a new administration.

The senate in Poland has approved two controversial bills. Poland's governing party says it's acting to reform a slow and corrupt court system, but the European Union says they will undermine the independence of judiciary.

Canadian pharmaceutical billionaire Barry Sherman and his wife Honey have been found dead at their home in Toronto. Police described the death as suspicious but said they were not being treated as homicides. Mr. Sherman was a prominent philanthropist.

Opposition parties in Peru have submitted an impeachment motion against President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. He has dismissed accusations that he has received illegal payments from a Brazil-based construction company. The motion says Mr. Kuczynski lacks the moral capacity to lead Peru.

Panama has agreed to extradite the former Mexican state governor Roberto Borge who is facing corruption charges in his home country. Nearly a dozen Mexican governors have been arrested or fled in recent year after being charged with corruption.
