四年一盼的南非世界杯

After four years of waiting,the 2010 World Cup is set to begin in South Africa. South Africa's national team coach vowed to unleash hell on his opponents begining with the opening match against Mexico.

Team captain Aaron Mokoena said the long wait is finally over and the team hopes to continue their unbeaten streak which currently stands at 12 games.

"I mean we need that game very very badly and at the moment. The moment of the truth has arrived,so there has been a lot of talkings,  but now it's all about really getting to battle field and making our country proud and that's what we're up for."

Security was tight in Cape Town as fans fest for the world cup open on Thursday. Police kept a close eye on fans in the park while security strained thousands of people who enter the facility which was designed to accommodate up to 25,000 people.

"All systems have been put in place, you might,you'll have to see in the country that people have built, they want to watch the world cup. So we are ready as the security,everything is in place and we are confident that we'll deliver a good World Cup."

US vice president John Biden  arrived in Johannesburg on Thursday a day ahead of the start of the FIFA world cup. Johannesburg's Soccer City will host the first match of the month-long tournament featuring 32 national teams competing for the title of world champion.
