-And how many drugs do you have for women with sexual problems.

It's been 12 years since Viagra came on the market and still there is no similar drug for women. Sheryl Kindsberg, you are an expert on female sexual health. This just seems unfair.

-Well you are right,it does seem unfair.

Will we at some points see demise of this double standard for women and men?

-There are two potential treatment options right on the cast that have been available for women.

So in the real drug, it is testosterone and that does what to a woman sex drive.

-So it increases the desire to have sex and then subsequently increases the number of that. We're not going to make women wild,it's just to restore testosterone they used to have.

Stop number 2 on our tour of female sexual dysfunction is the New York area where another pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim has developed a drug. This time,it's a pill. And I am here with Michael Sand who is in charge of the clinical research. Now the drug is called Filbanserin. And tell me, in studies what it is done for women who have taken it.

-About half of the women notice significant benefit on their desire, on their satisfying sexual activity and a decrease in their distress.

So there are chemicals in the brain that deal with how sexy we feel. And what does your drug do with those chemicals?

-We think that Filbanserin is altering the brain chemicals,in a way that restores that balance to what women had before they lost their desire.

The company that comes up with the female Viagra,they've got lot to gain,don't they.

-I think the company has a lot to gain,but women have more to gain.

Maybe some women who are having problems ,they don't need drug ,they just need a different guy.

-Some women I think will do very well with the testosterone treatment. Some will do well with Filbanserin. And some really will do well with a new partner. It's not fair to say only one treatment for one problem.
