苹果iPad开始在中国销售

2010-09-23来源:和谐英语

Well, despite the rain here in Beijing, these people have been lining up, some for a few hours, others for a few days. Now that Apple's iPad is officially on sale here in China.

I've been waiting for 60 hours. I love Apple and I'm a huge, huge fan.

And if you think everything is cheaper in China. Well, think again! Apple is charging an equivalent of about $600 for the 16 gigabyte version, around $800 for the biggest 64 gigabyte model. That's about 20% more than what you might pay for the same product in the store in New York. Now that's mostly because of Chinese government taxes. Although there is a host of cheap notebooks you can buy in this country, analysts say the Apple brand brings with it such status here that this country's growing middle class will be willing to pay those higher prices.

I have been waiting for a month. It's finally on sale today. I'm really happy.

It costs one month of my salary, but I don't think it's expensive.

So with its launch here in China, analysts believe Apple could be on track to sell 12 million iPads this year worldwide, maybe as many as 20 million next year.
