Hong Kong A listers Chow Yun Fat and Nicholas Tse took to the red carpet in Macau last night to promote their new film "From Vegas to Macau."

It's been twenty years since Chow starred in a gambling themed film.

He played the title role in the 1989 Hong Kong film "God of Gamblers," an iconic role that defined an era in Hong Kong's cinematic history, inspiring other gambling themed films that soon followed.

The 1994 sequel "God of Gamblers Returns" remains one of Hong Kong's highest grossing films and it cemented Chow's status as of one Hong Kong's top grossing box office stars.

Despite playing high rollers in films Chow says that in real life he despises gambling as when he was growing up his father lost a lot of money with the past-time leaving the family penniless.

With the Chinese New Year just around the corner, audiences have the chance of a double helping of Chow Yun Fat, as he also stars in the fantasy action film "The Monkey King" which is released on Thursday next week.

Chow says the films offer cinema-goers two very different experiences:

"This film, Nicholas and I carry the film, 50/50. The other film is 30/70. I'm 30, Donnie Yen is 70. The two films are from different genres. The other one is 3D, and this one is for the Chinese New Year. I hope the audience will enjoy both because they are different."

After walking the red carpet of the premier, Chow and Tse, along with director Wong Jing, and producer Andrew Lau left their hand prints for Macau's Avenue of Stars.
