Hello to you, I'm Veronica De La Cruz at the cnn Center in Atlanta. Here's a look at what's happening right NOW IN THE NEWS.

Thirteen construction workers were injured when a building collapsed near Denver. Four have serious injuries. That's according to the Denver fire chief. They were pouring wet cement on the building's thirteenth floor when it collapsed. No one on the floors below were hurt. They got down using a construction elevator and were then transported to a local hospital. The situation is under control but is still under investigation.

Lewis "Scooter" Libby has paid the 250,000-dollar fine stemming from his conviction in connection to the CIA leak case. President Bush commuted his two-and-half-year prison sentence earlier this week, but you still had to pay that fine and remains under probation. The White House says there is a chance his probation may be lifted, though.

A car bomb has killed at least 17 people in Southern Baghdad today. An Interior Ministry official tells cnn that people were gathering for a wedding when the bomb went off. At least 28 others were wounded.

Also in Southern Baghdad, a roadside bomb has killed two US soldiers and wounded two others. The US military suspects that the parts that made the explosive device may have come into Iraq through neighboring Iran.

Well, former Vice President Al Gore says that he's dealing with his son's arrest as a private family matter. Al Gore III was arrested yesterday on drug possession charges. A spokesman tells cnn that he's now undergoing treatment. The 24-year-old was pulled over on a Southern California freeway for speeding. Deputy say a search of his vehicle turned up pot and prescription drugs. A sheriff's spokesperson says Gore admitted smoking some marijuana before he was pulled over.

And a 5-year-old North Carolina boy says he just wanted to protect his little brother. Rayshun McDowell grabbed a rabid fox and held it down on the ground until his stepfather could kill it. The animal showed up at a family cookout in Kingstown, which is about 50 miles west of Charlotte. The boy came away with a bite on the leg and is getting treatment for rabies. His mom says "He was so brave and I was a wreck". Well, she had every right to be.
