There are disturbing new allegations. US Marines are accused of killing civilians in Iraq. It allegedly took place during the US siege on Fallujah, in November, 2004. According to several Pentagon officials, a former Marine says his who comrades gunned down their eight civilian prisoners. The allegations surface when the former Marine applied for a job at the US Secret Service and received a routine polygraph test.

The US commander of the Multi-National Division Center in Baghdad says he needs the so-called "Surge" troops for operation south of the Iraqi capital. Major General Rick Lynch's comments echoed the commander of US forces in Northern Iraq, who called an immediate significant troop withdrawal a very very bad idea. Lynch says over time Iraqi security forces will be able to take over, but not yet.

The Australian investigation into the UK terror plot is expanding. Federal police there questioned and released five doctors today. Investigators say four of the doctors communicated with another doctor already in custody in connection with this case. That doctor was arrested at an Australian airport Monday. He was allegedly on a one-way flight to India. Officers also seize computers and phones from at least two hospitals.

To Las Vegas now, police there are trying to figure out what led a man to start firing a gun in a casino early this morning. Three people were wounded in the attack. Police say the man, a Las Vegas resident, began randomly shooting into a crowd at the New York New York Casino just after midnight. Police say they don't know how many shots were fired, but quite a bystander was subduing that man.

Some people who use the services of the alleged DC madam may be a little nervous right now. A judge has ruled that Deborah Palfrey is free to distribute her phone records. Palfrey and her attorneys say the records contain up to 15,000 names and could shake up Washington by revealing high-profile people. She faces federal racketeering and conspiracy charges for allegedly running a prostitution ring, though she says it was a legal escort service.
