From the cnn Center in Atlanta, I'm Nicole Lapin, here's a look at what's happening right now in the news.

A school lockdown to tell you about right now was a situation in Clearwater, Florida. It is still unfolding right now. It all started as a shooting actually that caused a car crash. Two people were transported to a local hospital already but their condition and their identities are not yet known. But officials do say that several nearby schools have already put on lockdown as well, er just as a precaution as police continue to search for the gunmen. Now police are also searching house-to-house to try and find where the suspects might be hiding.

Our small town law enforcement officer may have gone on a deadly shooting rampage because he was jealous. Twenty-year-old Tyler Peterson, a deputy sheriff and a part-time police officer opened fire on a homecoming weekend party in Crandon, Wisconsin, killing six young people. Three of the victims were recent high school graduates, the others were still students. Now the mayor of that area is suggesting that one of the victims was or had been Peterson's girlfriend. The State Department of Justice has already taken over the investigation. Now Peterson was tracked to a home right there, nearby the town, and after an exchange of gunfire with police, he was found dead. Autopsies are still underway there for all of the seven dead young people.

Now the Wisconsin, actually Missouri man accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting two teenage boys pleaded guilty to kidnapping one of them today. 41-year-old Michael Devlin was sentenced to life in prison today. He's been in a jail since January four days after he kidnapped 13-year-old Ben Ownby. So when police finally tracked down Devlin, they were amazed to find both Ownby and 16-year-old Shawn Hornbeck in his apartment. Hornbeck has disappeared while he was riding his bike back in 2002. Now a relative of Ownby says that he is so relieved that Devlin finally decided to plead guilty.

Now police all around the world are on a lookout for a man seen in hundreds of Internet pictures sexually abusing underage boys. The man, his face was hidden behind digital alterations like this one, like that one as well, but authorities are actually able to restore the original image and there he was. Officials say that the man actually abused twelve underage boys in Vietnam and Cambodia, and they believe that he essentially travels all around the world just to do that, to exploit kids.

And Iraq's President thinks the majority of US forces now will be out of Iraq by the end of 2008. In an interview with cnn, President Jalal Talabani said that up to 100, 000 troops could actually leave Iraq by that time. The about 160, 000 US troops are in Iraq right now. Such a pullout would be much faster than the current US military plan however to withdraw 30 thousand troops by mid-2008.
